Early History of Education in America

If I were teaching in a one room schoolhouse technology would help me because I could seperate the children by grade and let them use the online education skills to help them learn better.
I would go around and help the students individually if needed.

The Water Is Wide Reflection

In response to the blog prompt below. Recently in my education and training class we watched the movie The Water is Wide.

1.The ways that education has changed from the 1960s is that they cant "spank" the children anymore and the students are with the same grade and are not learning the same thing as the 8th graders. The curriculum has changed because now kids know how to write and read.

2. Three ways that Mr. Conroy inspired his children to learn was he just went with the flow of everything and how the students managed. He actually got to know his kids and their stories. He also wasn't strict with the children and he gained their respect.

3.The way Mr.Conroy got the community to support the school was by going out and meeting them and connecting with them. he got their support because he liked them.

4.An idea that I carry from this movie is that you have to be able to fit the needs of all students not just one. like when he did with sol he told everybody that when they talk to him they need to articulate more. He specified the needs of one student while not excluding any others.

The Leader In Me

Leadership observed
A good leader and an effective teacher are similar because they both have to have the ability to do communicate, connect, speak, and many more things. The way teachers use leadership skills are like them being able to teach the class and being able to control the class. The past teachers I have had have been a big impact in my life. When teachers show leadership they are either controlling the class, making them line up, or trying to get them to be quiet.

My Leadership in Action
The way I will Improve my leadership is by joining more groups and trying to be an effective leader. I am in the Birdville High School Marching Band and I plan to become section leader my senior year. The participation has helped me see what it is like to be a leader and to see the challenges of it.

BIG plans

In response to Mrs.Kallas's Blog my projected high school graduation year is 2019. My dream job would would be to be a first grade teacher. After high school I plan to go to college and get my teaching degree and work for Birdville ISD at Smithfield Elementary teaching first grade. I will need to go through a four year college plan to get my teaching degree at Texas Tech university. I would like to take the internship class at the BCTAL. I would need to take an internship through high school and through college so by the time I can be teacher on my own I would know how to Be a teacher and know how to write lesson plans on my own. What interest me about teaching is being able to help young children and making a difference in this world. I think this would be a good fit for me because Im very good with young children and how to deal with them. What I like most about this job would be that  I get to help young children become better people.
