My Biggest Challenge as a Future Teacher

Click here to view view blog prompt

My biggest challenge as teacher would probably be keeping the kids in line. When I was in fifth grade and was moving schools I got a tour of the school I was supposed to be going to. When I was walking the campus with the counselor  and the principal and we were walking by the classrooms and some of them were open the kids were standing on desks and jumping around like maniacs. We walked by another and another and they were all acting the same. Finally we passed a classroom and everyone was sitting down quietly and they were learning, and I knew that that would be the kind of class that I would want to be in.

Early History of Education in America

If I were teaching in a one room schoolhouse technology would help me because I could seperate the children by grade and let them use the online education skills to help them learn better.
I would go around and help the students individually if needed.

The Water Is Wide Reflection

In response to the blog prompt below. Recently in my education and training class we watched the movie The Water is Wide.

1.The ways that education has changed from the 1960s is that they cant "spank" the children anymore and the students are with the same grade and are not learning the same thing as the 8th graders. The curriculum has changed because now kids know how to write and read.

2. Three ways that Mr. Conroy inspired his children to learn was he just went with the flow of everything and how the students managed. He actually got to know his kids and their stories. He also wasn't strict with the children and he gained their respect.

3.The way Mr.Conroy got the community to support the school was by going out and meeting them and connecting with them. he got their support because he liked them.

4.An idea that I carry from this movie is that you have to be able to fit the needs of all students not just one. like when he did with sol he told everybody that when they talk to him they need to articulate more. He specified the needs of one student while not excluding any others.
